CO2 a Change of Climate
I have been having fun with a church experiment, CO2, this last week or so with my friend Chris. It is only early days but we are both quite excited about it. For myself it is helping me to add a little bit of structure to my relationship with God, even so early in im starting to see that God will talk to us even when we dont put in 100% or even 1%. We are not designed to function in isolation and this is a simple way to help develop and support each other on this journey. It really helps that we both like, and feel comfortable using, new technology; We have been using Google Wave as our main communcation platform and hopefully will use skype when we can both coordinate a conversation at the same time as well as the weekly face to face meet we already enjoy.

The Pattern
A few weeks back Jim gave us this scripture and it has been part of a few of our meetings since.
"Above all else, guard your heart for it is the wellspring of life. Let your eyes look straight ahead; fix your gaze directly before you. Make level paths for your feet and take only ways that are firm. Do not swerve to the right or the left; keep your foot from evil." - Proverbs 4:23-27

Today we hear about praising god for the eternal things, the things that will last the things that have real importancein the kingdom. Amongst this is a prayer:
18. I pray also that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance in the saints
Our heart is our essential being it is who we are and we are to guard this being because this is where our life is.
I felt compelled to read further.
Epesians 3
16. I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being, 17. so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, 18. may have power, together with all the saints, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, 19. and to know this love that surpasses knowledge—that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God.
Through our faith Jesus is a part of our essential being, Our heart (our being) is amazingly linked to Jesus. His holy spirit lives within us. He is the wellspring of eternal life. We partake of his life as we partake of his death, as we die to our selfish desires we can live to his selfless desires. In both books there are numerous things we are instructed that we need to guard our hearts from.
Our eyes need to focus on Jesus. Following him, not looking right or left. Through the spirit we need to see things as our heavenly father sees them that his light will give understanding and the eternal perspective on our journey with our father holding our hand. Reading a bit further, although I don’t understand it i feel this "attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ" is a part of that inheritance.
Ephesians 4
to prepare God's people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up 13 until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ.
31 but those who hope in the LORD
Will renew their strength.
They will soar on wings like eagles;
They will run and not grow weary,
They will walk and not be faint.
This verse has been repeated a few times recently, I know its popular and well known but I think God is trying to tell me something here. This isn’t the translation of this that I am used to (I am used to wait) so did quick search and found this:
Yet, the strength of those who wait with hope in the LORD will be renewed. and this Wesley's Notes: 40:31 Wait - That rely upon him. Renew - Shall grow stronger and stronger.
This seems to give this so much more meaning to it than I have ever had before. It is now active and continuous.

A Ripple or a Wave
Many thanks to Chris I can now Wave, even if it doesn't help my spelling. I have not even touched the surface of the possibilities but was thinking of one of the possible uses. The thought of a group of researchers or think tank all putting their ideas down at once and then bouncing off each other with ways of developing them came to mind. A small ripple could with enough energy behind it become a big wave.
With this in mind how about a bible study or prayer wave. I think I would really like to try and see if this could work, I hope to update if this goes anywhere.

The Hand of God
Following on from the meeting with Chris and Jim with a surprise addition of Dot last week the image of God's hand has not left my mind. Chris posted the words Dot read out from her writing on his blog, and the thought of Gods hand reaching into the darkness to lead us has been hard to shake. My prayer for each day is that I can reach out and take it, whilst it is scary not knowing where he is going to lead, the alternatives scare me even more. How full of fears am I?
I tried to catch up with David Wilkersons blog today, http://davidwilkersontoday.blogspot.com/ its all so relevant, on some level, I wouldn't know where to start.
Really looking forward to meeting with Jim and Chris tonight. I hope this is the first of many entries, who knows? I have never been one for diaries or even taking notes.
Maybe I can track a bit of this journey. I wonder if anyone will ever read it?
