Monday 23rd May 2016

Finally our honeymoon adventure can begin. We had our first honeymoon breakfast at the airport and soon it was time to Board. This time Sean did not set off security and everything went smoothly. The flight was nice and soon we landed in Naples. It was nice and sunny absolutely lovely. After catching a bus and a Ferry we finally arrived at Procida, our beautiful first honeymoon destination. I was a bit worried about Sean’s skin as we had not applied sun screen yet at this point. Sean gets a sunburn even in England, and often I ask myself if we live at the same place as I am not sure how he possibly could have gotten a sunburn. At our romantic hotel we were welcomed with a bottle of Prosecco on Ice and flower petals forming a heart shape on our bed. With the sun shining onto the sea and the amazing view from our bedroom it was just stunning and we still felt like dreaming.
Any reader by now might have noticed that I rudely took over some writing in Sean’s blog. However since we are married now we thought we share this too :).

We had a Jacuzzi in the bedroom which leaked when using the main top but staff attended and showed us how to use the jacuzzi avoiding leakage so all was good. The garden in the hotel was amazing, just as you would imagine an Italian garden to be like. Tania went and asked for some snacks to be sent up to our room. It took some time and we thought they were picking the olives and killing the pig, but we now think that he must have cut the Salami and Bresola fresh, it was very tasty as we sat having a picnic in the jacuzzi. After couple of hours rest we got ready to go out. We went out to eat at a small seafood Restaurant, Tania had Calamari and I had Gnocchi, the food tasted delicious.
Sunday 22nd May 2016

After checking out of the hotel and still being like on cloud 111, calling each other husband and wife all of the time, we went back to the hall for cleaning up and taking everything that was left. Due to amazing family and friends who already tidied up Saturday night and who helped tirelessly Sunday morning , it was all done in an hour. We all headed back home and had a nice breakfast in the garden with the sun shining on us. Andrius came around and sat with us for a bit than I collected the trailers from his house. Andrius had kindly stored them at his during the wedding. We seemed to do a lot rushing around, getting things and luggages ready so we could head off to our long awaited honeymoon. We arrived finally at the airport (after not finding everything and dropping Tania’s phone which shattered the screen) , dropped the car off and checked into the hotel room for a nice relaxing evening with room service and chatting about the wedding. We did not sleep much as we had to wake up early to pack and go, we were nearly ready as we were even more rushed to due a fire alarm going off. We finished packing and left as we had a taxi waiting and did not want to miss the flight. The fire alarm stopped as we arrived at hotel reception and they explained it went off due to a guest having a very steamy shower.

Saturday 21st May The Party

As we couldnt get everyone in the garden yesterday we planned a party for our friends and family, the hall we booked was very restricted with the number of people but we thought we would not even have that many guests but as we started drawing up the list we found we had far too many family members and friends, I know who would have thought it (I guess Tania is very popular), so unfortunately we had to cull so many please dont make us sadder than we are already about this.
We left the hotel, after breakfast with my mum and dad, still in our wedding clothes. We had to pick up the key for the hall and get instructions on its use, I have had key experience before but you never know they may do it differently in this part of the country, one indoctrinated we returned to our house to continue the whirlwind day. We returned home to fill the cars with decorations and drinks, collected our conscripts and returned to the hall then after emptying the car Tania and I abandoned everyone.
Tania had an appointment with the hairdresser, and gave me instructions to collect her in a few hours. Again I had a list, cheques into bank and beers for hall, after dutifully fulfilling my required chores I returned to our house just as my mother-in-law and party where trying to leave for the party. Tristan came to collect me but had been stuck in traffic so Tania had plenty of time to be refitted into her dress.
On arrival we where surprised to have a microphone thrust into our hands, neither of us was sure what we where supposed to do with this and I had to talk, I have no recollection of what I said but the party had started. Whilst waiting for us, David had claimed the crown for longest ride on the rodeo bull, he was not to keep this for too long. Jim was cooking and we tried to greet and catch up with everyone. We really had no time to do this the evening went so fast and we missed out on talking, not that i do this a lot but It would have been good to have more time with each person, many had come a long way for this. Thank you all for making this day so enjoyable. The highlight, was not our first dance with the gangnam style twist which had been planned as a surprise for those who saw it on the Friday, of the evening was the Bull. As I mentioned David was in the lead, I had been given instructions not to ride in case of injury so had to watch as all the children had fun. Tania even went on it and after some assistance to stabilise lasted an outstanding one second, I really did not want to be left out and Tania eventually gave in and let me try I didnt even make it to the start Im not sure why because in my mind I was a rodeo king and thought I could stay on until the gears ceased up. The Crown, and the bottle that went with it, was claimed after a number of valiant contenders by Reduan as Astala's time was not taken into account on account of her having a little assistance.
It was a far to fast but really lovely day. It ended with Chris and Donna helping Pam and Jim clean up the hall, I dont think they even got any tips for it.

Friday 20th May wedding

We woke early, but not too early, in the hotel. The clock was ticking and we both had a schedule. Tania was to go to hairdressers and I had a list, it wasnt a complicated one but I had to do it. Italian shop for sugared almonds, bread from Tesco and take dad to house. There was enough time before we parted to give Tania a little gift and make sure she was ready and looking forward to the day. At the House everything was done and ready, Laura and Lorena had made everything beautiful, Tanias mum and Antonio had made all the lovely food. The time ticked away so fast and then I had to go, I was going to take Tristans car but Chris offered to take me. I'm so glad he did, we where misplaced and the sat nav misbehaved and I directed us the wrong way and it was looking like I was going to be late. I had calls from Laura and Tania who where waiting and i'm sure now wondering if I was ever going to turn up to the registry office. We arrived with no time to spare then everything slowed down to a dream like pace. After checking some details Tania and I where standing next to each other and the ceremony had started, I thought to myself that I am getting married, that it was actually happening. I wanted the moment to last for ever but it moved on, we where legally married and ready to get married for real.
We drove back to our house slowly, chatting and enjoying the moments until we arrived. Tania was taken away from me and I was left to wander aimlessly in the garden, with occasional greetings to our family. Everyone was ready and started to be directed to their positions and I waited for the music to start. Tania had chosen a particular piece of music, thousand  years, so I knew when it was to happen. The music started then changed, Tristan thrust a light sabre into my hand as I was suddenly in the presence of Darth Vader himself as I was told I had to fight for my bride. I had no choice, fight and gain the most amazing prize or death and disgrace. He was a strong opponent and I only had thoughts of overcoming this obstacle and claiming my bride, little did I know what the cost would be. As I mad the final thrust I heard the sith lord say "Sean, I am your son" as the let go of his last breath.
I had no time to understand or grieve as as soon as he fell the blade was taken from me and I saw Tania walking towards me, such a beautiful sight I would not have dared to imagine it happen. We stood together as Tristan performed his ceremony and we exchanged vows. We then went to the park to be photographed, we lost some of our guests on the journey but fortunately found them again. Then an amazing meal together as we talked and enjoyed the beautiful day. As the guests left and we where alone with Laura and Tristan, I was so happy to watch and listen to Tania read Astala to sleep, she even let me try. Astala didn't really like my Deutsche sprechen and took the book from me, gave it to Tania and then lay down again. We spent the rest of the evening in the marquee chatting all together until sleep overcame us and we left. It was the most perfect day, I couldnt have wished for better.

Cornwall 2014 Day 4. My Dad wasn't so good this morning so we left him and went for coffee in Polperro, as David had not emerged from his daily hibernation he was also abandoned. This is a lovely seaside village and worth the extortion at car park, £4 for 3 hrs, well maybe not extortion but as we where only going for coffee it increased the cost. The day started sunny with wind but the sun had hidden itself as we explored the village. There is a small harbour and beach with a large cave. I imagine it to be like a town in Tortuga full of pirates with barrels of rum and chests of gold and jewels hidden in secret tunnels.
Unfortunately we couldn't stay in fantasy island all day and it had started to rain so we had coffee whilst the storm passed, there I slip again it was barely getting the ground wet. We went back to camp bearing gifts from foreign shores, Cornish pasties, for lunch.
As my Dad felt better we had his day out furthering fantasy's of lost treasures as we explored a shipwreck museum in charlestown. This is worth the visit and is far more extensive than it first appears. We learnt about the towns history as a clay exporter and about various activities of lifeboat rescue, deep sea diving, coopers and smiths.

Cornwall 2014 Day 3. This is Davids day, Its actually St Patricks day but as David has chosen what we do we are letting him think its his. David has gold fever and wants to get rich quick so we are going to pan for gold. This was the plan, reallity - Cornwall is closed until April and the place we headed to was no different so we went to the town where no one can escape, Redruth the Village part 2, to get some pans and then find a stream. We found some pans (plastic bowls) but when we tried to find a stream the satnav lost power and we kept being redirected to or having to drive to this spookey town. We did eventually escape, I think, we may end up back there.

Cornwall 2014 Day 2. Today we plan to head into Plymouth to catch up with my friends Hamish and Rachel, we head into Looe late morning and its the start of a beautiful day with the sun shining and the wind blowing as we wander through the back street of this small seaside town. We stop for coffee at the beach where the wind has stopped and the temperature rises. From here we head into Plymouth and take the coastal route which requires we use the car ferry. Lunch is in a busy cafe on the terraces of Plymouth Hoe overlooking the glistening sea, I think the staff had not anticipated the surge of customers and where running out of food and all seemed run off their feet. After, David and I walk down the terraces to the sea and my friend Hamish phones me as he has come to front to walk the dog so its not long before we meet. It is lovely to see them both and Seth, their son who has grown so much since last time. We spend the afternoon with them and say goodbye at their local church as they finish preparation to take the evening service with their youth group. This is a great start to our holiday, injuries of the previous day are still present but it looks like it is going to be a great one despite setbacks.
